Research Overview

The CREWES Project has concentrated on the analysis and interpretation of multicomponent seismic data. As part of this overall focus, we have developed a complete processing flow for P-SV waves including anisotropic rotations, statics solutions, velocity analysis, depth-variant mapping, P-SV DMO, post-stack migration, and inversion. We have performed a number of field tests on 3-C geophones and sources. Full acoustic and elastic physical modeling supports our analysis. We have also processed numerous field data sets in areas of exploration interest.

In line with the CREWES mandate to extract geologically meaningful pictures from advanced geophysical data, we are pressing forward by analyzing 3-C, 3-D data as well as near-surface measurements.
