Dr. Shahpoor Moradi earned his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Physics from Razi University in Kermanshah, Iran, where his research was focused on Quantum Fields and Quantum Information. After finishing his Ph.D., he held a faculty position at Razi University. He also worked as a visiting researcher in several institutes such as the Institute for Quantum Computing and the Perimeter Institute in Waterloo, ON, and the Institute of Quantum Information Sciences in Calgary, AB. In 2013, Shahpoor joined CREWES and obtained his second Ph.D. in Geophysics at the University of Calgary in Spring 2017. After two years Postdoctoral Fellowship in CREWES, he joined Total SA and Research Institute on the Foundations of Computer Science (IRIF) in Paris as a researcher to develop the Quantum Algorithms for the Oil and Gas explorations. Currently he is working for CREWES as a researcher, working on Applications of Quantum Computing and Quantum Machine Learning for Geosciences.
