Lukas Sadownyk

M.Sc. Student
Supervisor: Kris Innanen

Lukas received a B.Sc. with honours in geophysics and B.Sc. with distinction in geology from the University of Calgary in 2020. During his undergrad, he has worked as a geoscience intern at a variety of companies including Valeura Energy, Gran Tierra, Imperial Oil, and CNRL. These internships have allowed Lukas to gain experience with structural and stratigraphic seismic interpretation, risk analysis, passive seismic, P- and S-wave velocity modelling, and P- S- joint inversion. During his final semester of his undergrad, Lukas worked with Dr. Kristopher Innanen and Imperial Oil to develop a program to predict geologic S-wave velocities for passive seismic events.

In January of 2021, Lukas joined CREWES and began a M.Sc. with Dr. Kristopher Innanen. His research interests include machine learning, passive seismic monitoring, and integrating geology with geophysics.
