Zhan received B.Sc. in geophysics with first class honor at the University of Calgary in June 2017. In the last year of undergraduate study, he took higher level geology courses for interest such as advances structural geology and sequential stratigraphy. In the meanwhile, Zhan completed his independent study on the pseudo-spectral method with the supervision of Dr. Daniel Trad, who became the supervisor for his master study later on.

Zhan joined CREWES in the September of 2017 to pursue an M.Sc. degree. His interest is currently in least-square reverse time migration.
