9C DAS acquisition on the Pretzel and Croissant multi-component sensors

Kevin W. Hall, Kristopher A. Innanen, Donald C. Lawton

Seismic acquisition was conducted at the CMC-CaMI Field Research Station (FRS) in September and October of 2024. P-Vibe, SH-Vibe, and SV-Vibe sources on lines 15 (VP15132-VP15168 only), 55, and 41 (P-vibe only) were recorded on 3C downhole geophones in the OBS2 borehole, on the main fibre loop (1C), the Pretzel (8C), and the Croissant (3C) fibre in September. P-Vibe (Lines 13, 15, 200, and 420) and P-weight drop (line 200) sources were recorded on the same sensors in October. A number of studies are possible, including a partial repeat of the Tiny Bubbles experiment, source effort comparisons, source type comparisons, source mode comparisons, as well as helical and straight fiber comparisons to downhole 3C geophones, and trenched helical and straight fibre comparisons to multicomponent data from the Pretzel and Croissant sensors. This report shows a preliminary look at the data acquired on our OptaSense ODH4 DAS interrogator, with a focus on data from the Pretzel and Croissant.
